I have been using Open Live Writer, since it was Windows Live Writer.  I like it, and it feels pretty easy to write what I want.  I am about to setup my 9 year old to do some writing on a blog (not this one).  Here is a short tutorial for using Word.<\/p>\n

From the file menu, choose New, then search for Blog post.  There is a template:<\/p>\n

Click on the Blog post template, then \u2018Create\u2019.  You will be prompted to Register a Blog Account:<\/p>\n

Click \u2018Register Now\u2019, and it will ask you what flavor of Blog you have.  In this case, we use WordPress:<\/p>\n

Enter your user name and password, and check the box to remember it, if you are so inclined.<\/p>\n

Click on the picture options, and make sure you are happy with the answer.  In my case, the blog provider is the right answer.<\/p>\n

Click \u2018Ok\u2019 twice and you should see the success message.<\/p>\n

Write your post and click the \u2018Publish\u2019 (or you could click the dropdown and get the \u2018Publish as draft\u2019) button:<\/p>\n

You also have the option to add categories.  It appears that those are generated from a query to your blog.  So you can select existing ones or create new ones:<\/p>\n
