{"id":400,"date":"2017-01-23T19:30:44","date_gmt":"2017-01-24T00:30:44","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/nukeitmike.com\/blog\/?p=400"},"modified":"2017-01-23T19:30:44","modified_gmt":"2017-01-24T00:30:44","slug":"storsimple-virtual-array","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.nukeitmike.com\/index.php\/2017\/01\/23\/storsimple-virtual-array\/","title":{"rendered":"StorSimple Virtual Array"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I really like Microsoft.&#160; As a company, they don\u2019t always do things the way I would like them to, but overall, they make products that meet a need.<\/p>\n<p>We operate in a (mostly) centralized infrastructure.&#160; Our file servers are (mostly) in our main office.&#160; I have a few virtualized StorSimple appliances that I use in a couple of the remote offices.&#160; <\/p>\n<p>Today, I learned that they may occasionally throttle themselves if they are having trouble keeping up with the churn rate.&#160; I probably would have expected this, but I didn\u2019t really put as much thought into that until today.&#160; <\/p>\n<p>I also learned that this can impede a users ability to make changes to or save new files on that share.&#160;&#160; This is somewhat frustrating because an error caused it to throttle today, not (apparently) the churn rate.&#160; And my first alert was from the end users.&#160;&#160;&#160; Bummer\u2026<\/p>\n<p>Even better, the engineer saying \u201cwe\u2019ve never seen that one before\u201d.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I really like Microsoft.&#160; As a company, they don\u2019t always do things the way I would like them to, but overall, they make products that meet a need.
